BIKING ACROSS KANSAS
- Arrives in Arma on June 15th
The following is the e-mail Bette received from BAK. I thought I would post it for all to enjoy.
Hello Arma!
I can't believe one week ago today, BAK 2018 was arriving in Arma and about to celebrate our final evening together!
Thank you, Arma, for being a host city for BAK 2018. The Arma community was amazingly impressive and we want you to know how much we appreciated all the work you did to make everything come together for the BAK participants.
It was an especially hot and windy tour this year, but thanks to great communities like Arma, we made it to the end and you made our final night together very festive and fun!
Thank you, Superintendent Greg Gorman and Principal Jason Clemenson for opening up Northeast High School for the Biking Across Kansas participants! Thanks also for posting signage in the school. This helped out the BAK leadership team a lot.
Thank you, Brenda Banks with the Arma Public Library for stepping up to be BAK's liaison and community champion for Arma! I appreciated your quick responses to my emails. Everyone loved having our final meeting at the City Park! And the decorated bicycles were so beautiful! They certainly took a lot of time to do. Our team saw a lot of people taking pictures of every bicycle! We also enjoyed and appreciated the shuttles provided to the riders. Thank you so much! Additionally, thank you for lining up the entertaining live band, the cloggers, and the activities at the library. It appeared that everyone was having a great time during our visit to Arma.
We enjoyed the variety of food fundraisers provided and I would certainly be interested in knowing how they all did to help us with future meal planning.
BAK has been a successful cross state bicycle tour of Kansas for the last 44 years because of the hospitality of the communities who host us. Arma totally rocked it for BAK 2018!
I hope you all have a great rest of the summer and we look forward to returning to Arma in the future!
Sincerely yours,
Sherry McKee
