Bianchi/Lakey/Gibson Family
I seen an obit posted there for a Luigi "Louis" TOSCHI and the
BIANCHI's that are named in it are the ones I'm looking for. I'm having
a heck of a time finding anyone who connects to any of these Italian
names.
I am trying to find all the BIANCHI's and who they all married.
I also have my husbands Ggrandmother named Robina GIBSON who married
1st to John Levi LAKEY on December 24, 1901 in Crawford
Co,KS. She had a son in 1903. I do know that
the story
we were handed down was that Robina's husband died and that she gave
her son b. 1903 to her sister Anna GIBSON and her husband Thomas
GRIFFITHS to raise. I do have that info on census
etc. I don't have a death date :( only know it
was before 1906.)
I'm doing genealogy research on both the
Gibson and Huston families of that county. linda ruth lindahr@tacnet.missouri.org
Bruniau Family
Looking for information on my grandfather Leon Bruniau though I never
met or knew of him
until last year. I have been searching for information since that time.
If you know of anyone who knew him or any family members and can give
me any information (even if you think it may not be favorable) that
would be great! He lived on Hector(?) street, in Arma in a small white
house for at least 40 years and died in 1972 at age 89. He was a coal
miner. He had a son and a daughter Victor and Marie. Victor died in
1976 and Marie died in 2002 at the age of 85. Barbara Jean Bruno Murdock bnanamurdock@aol.com

Reed/Wilson
Family
I'm researching my family tree for the Reed family and Williams Family.
I've attached links to history of my family on my grandfather's side.
If anyone
could direct me to where I might find information on graveyards or
historical
data for Arma I'd greatly appreciate it.
I think My grandfather and his family lived in the Arma area in the
early 1900's. My great grandfathers name was Everitt (or Everett)
Vanderpool and he might have been a deputy sheriff at the time. My
grandfather was also
named Everett and I believe he had a brother John and a sister Vera. If
anyone
can give me any info or rememberances I would sure appreciate it.
My grandparents had a farm in Arma back
in the 20s. Their name was Frank Sacco and Maria Sacco. They had 7
children. Looking for information about them. Thanks. Linda

I am doing genealogy on the Swalley, Close and Forrester families. I
assume the G. Forrester you list as an early resident is Seymour
Govenor Forrester born Oct. 12, 1871, son of Hinton Forrester and
Rebecca Swalley. Rebecca is the sister of Catherine Swalley Close,
mother of William Close. My Great Great grandfather, David Swalley of
Independence was their brother.
My Great Grandfather, Nathan Henry Swalley lived in Mulberry 1885 -
1887 when he was first married. His oldest son, Fred William Swalley
was born in Arma on December 11, 1887. Nathan had a child, Ottie who
died young in Mulberry before that. The town may have become
official
after 1900, but it was known to our family members by the name of Arma
in 1887.
My Ggrandfather, Nathan Swalley ran a bowling alley in Kansas in the
late 1800s, but I am not sure which town. He lived in Arma, Mulberry
and Independence before moving to Oklahoma in 1897.
I am doing research on Charlie Close, son of Lemuel King Close and
Catherine Stwalley. Charlie was my husband's grandfather.
I thought you might like to have this picture of Charlie. Sorry
I do not know the year it was taken.
Picture of
Charlie
Looking for info on my father's family. His mother born in Cornell,
many are buried in Rosebank Cemetery in Mulberry and in
Pittsburg. Lamberson, Long, Murray, Brown, Price, Lanning.
Long forgotten towns of Midway, Croweburg, Litchfield, most were coal
miners.
One Earl Lamberson, injured in a mining accident; wife Fern. Daughter
Duddie was a school teacher in Arma, a pic of her would be nice....
John Lamberson, Earls grandfather, died of black lung disease there.
Lot of our family history there in area. Would appreciate any
family memories to add to our collection.

Carlo Alfredo Bosinio, better known as Charles Bosinio, was born in
Corio, Province of Turin in Italy, February 10, 1871. He came to
the United States by way of Ellis Island in October 1894. He was
23 years old and was looking for a better life here. He
eventually
ended up in Kansas, first in Chicopee, where he met Mary Macari and
they
wed in approximately 1895. They stayed in Chicopee from 1906 to
1914
and ran a store there. They then moved to Pittsburg for a couple
of years and then to Arma where they made their home and raised their
kids.
They had six children: Fred, Louis C., Lucy, Jessie and Emelia
and Ida. Emelia and Ida both died as children.
Charles and Mary ran a shoe/piece goods store in Arma. Charles
was active in Italian affairs and was a member of the Federation of
Italian Lodges. He was president of that organization for 12
years. He was a well liked and well respected person in
Arma. Although he had no official training as an attorney, he was
well read and represented several Italian families in legal
matters. After he retired, his son, Fred, took over the store and
ran an appliance/lumber store. It was located on a corner of
highway 69 in Arma, and had the name Bosinio in large letters on the
side of the building.
Charles died from an auto accident in January 1956. He was 84
years old. All of Charles and Mary’s children are gone now.
There are still grandchildren and great-grandchildren and
great-great-grandchildren. I am Charles and Mary’s
great-granddaughter, granddaughter to Louis C. Bosinio. My dad
was Louis Laverne Bosinio. Most knew him as Laverne, a name he
most disliked.
Mary died from old age in March 1962. She was 82 years old.
I'm on a quest to learn more about the Bosinio family. If there's
anyone who can help me, please write to me at:

Additional info: My mother is in a nursing home and while going
through stuff I found a hand written paper on which was written a
genealogy. This paper stated that my great grandfather's parents or
grandparents were named Marianna and Joseph Ciarus of Italy, and Louis
and Lucy Macari, also of Italy.
I
was just passing through Arma today, trying to match up some old photos
I have with current locations. Earlier, I was in Pittsburg showing my
collection to a cousin in hopes that she could identify people in the
pictures. Many of my photos include shots of the Hromek family from the
1920's in and around Arma: Vitas (Arma's city electrician), Janet, Ruby
(my mother) and Tom.
I have two of Ruby's Arma High School class autograph books which
include some of the following names:
1927 - Valerie Moynihan, Constance Simion, Zelma Harper, Leona
Davidson, Katie Podboy, Leo Fullette, Geraldine Motter, Jessie Wilson,
Thomas Dechairo, Lorenzo Shoup, Bill Cote, David Beverage, Ruth Ferns,
Tom Brunskill, Margaret Ramsey, Emma Revia
1928 - Elsie Hefton, Velda Gamble, Loretta Laura Chirppetta, Margaret
Sutton, Thelma Potter, Martha Lamberson, Mildred Bogard, Ruth Runyan,
Shirley Martin, Hazel Gillespie, Louis Cinotti, Jennie Theys, Warren
Hawkins, Ernestine Albertini, Matilda Krusic, Frank Pier, Annie Tomi,
Lucille Burgin, Everett Chickie Cooper, George Dray, Clyde Ramsey,
Nadine Pittser, Marie Martin, Lucy E. See, Kenneth Fox, Genevieve
Raines, Joe Robertson, Olene Minnis, Sisie Varsalona, and several
others.
If anyone out there has any interesting stories about the Hromek clan,
I would love to hear them. Thanks. Tom Palmer info@palmersguide.com Overland Park, KSUSA
