REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
ARMA V-J HOMECOMING PARADE 2018

Saturday, August 11 – 10:00 a.m.

Only parade entries to be judged must register by 9:00 a.m.  Those include commercial and organizational floats, novelties (pets, bicycles, novelties), antique and classic cars, antique and classic tractors, motorcycles.
 
Again this Year--floats and novelties will be judged during the parade with judges being located in the first two blocks of the parade route (after crossing Bus. 69).  Judging results will be posted at the Memorial Plaque at the City Park shortly after the parade.  Winners will also be notified through the contact person listed at time of registration, and also announced at the Sunday evening prize drawing.
 
Judging of cars, tractors and motorcycles will be before the parade as in past year.
 
 
PARADE JUDGING CRITERIA

Floats will be judged on the following criteria:
Theme—Does the float adequately convey the Homecoming theme of “United We Stand”? 
Does lettering include the float title and name of sponsoring organization? 
           Points possible ……………..50
Workmanship—Does the float look good?  Is the float neat, well put together, soundly constructed?  Does it look like a “float” (ie, wheels covered but not allowing the covering to drag on the ground or interfere with the float’s movement)?
           Points possible……………… 25
Design & Originality—Is the float creative in projecting the theme of Homecoming?  Are any special effects incorporating motion and/or sound used on and/or alongside the float?
           Points possible……………..  25
Total possible points…………….. 100
 
 
Novelties will be judged on the following criteria:
Theme—Does the entry adequately convey the parade theme of “United We Stand”?
           Points possible………………….  25
General Appearance—Is the overall appearance of the entry attractive and appealing?
           Points possible…………………. 15
Design & Originality—Is the entry creative in projecting the theme of Homecoming?  Are any special effects incorporated in the entry?
