Article appearing in the Arma Golden Jubilee Program August 7-9, 1959 about the history of the Homecoming Association.

The Arma Homecoming Celebration was organized in 1947 by the local post of the American Legion and before the first celebration was complete the Legion saw that it was too big an undertaking for one organization to handle.

The Homecoming Association was organized which is comprised of committees of all organizations in Arma as well as individuals who are interested and willing to work.

A chairman, vice chairman, secretary and treasurer is elected each year.  The chairman appoints committees to take charge of each phase of the celebration.  Over all, it takes approximately fifty people or more to put the celebration on.

It has grown from a one day affair until it now requires three days to put the events on.
