 Alfred Albertini
ARMA -- Alfred Albertini, 94, of Arma, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Infinia Health Care Center at Arma.

He was born April 11, 1908, at Curranville, to Anton and Viola Menghini Albertini. He lived on the family farm north of Croweburg until moving to Arma in 1988. He attended school at Chapman and Arma.

He was a retired farmer and coal miner. Mr. Albertini served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma and a former member of the Arma Eagles.

Survivors include one sister, Mary Albertini of Arma, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, August Albertini and Oreste Albertini; and one sister, Flora Albertini.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 1, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma with Fr. Donald Thissen officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Frontenac. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. today at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma. Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. today at Bedene Chapel at Arma.  Former Arma police chief, council member dies Monday
Luigi "Louis" Toschi, who served the city of Arma as chief of police, as a firefighter and as a city council member, has died.

Toschi, 80, of Arma, died at 1:55 a.m. on Monday, April 8, 2002 at St. John's Regional Medical Center at Joplin, Mo.

He was born July 27, 1921 at Ringo, to Jack and Delina Bianchi Toschi. He was raised at Ringo and attended Ringo Schools.

Mr. Toschi was the retired chief of police for the City of Arma. He had served as police chief for 23 years. Additionally, he served on the city and rural volunteer fire departments at Arma and the Arma City Council.

Mr. Toschi was a member of the Lon Helm Post No. 183 at Arma; the Arma Eagles Lodge; the Kansas Peace Officers Association; and he served on the board of directors of the Southeast Kansas Humane Society.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Air Force.

Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Larsen of Eagle Rock, Mo., and Barbara George of Kansas City, Mo.; one companion who provided for his care, Louise Sorrick of Arma; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Arthur and William Toschi.

Funeral services for Mr. Toschi will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the Bedene Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Plank officiating. Burial will follow at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Bedene Chapel at Arma.

 Rose Chiappetta
ARMA -- Rose Chiapetta, 95, of Arma, died at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2002 at her home.
She was born March 19, 1907 at Paterno, Italy, to Vincenzo and Rose Marrello.

She came in America in 1919 and was raised in Columbus by an aunt and uncle, Nina and Antonio Ascanio. She moved to Arma in 1930.

On April 5, 1930 she married James Chiapetta at Arma. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1984. She was a homemaker and a baby-sitter for several children in Arma.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Rose Tasset of Springfield, Mo.; three sisters, Minnie Infelise, Bertha Moretto and Dorothy Harvis, all of Stockton, Calif.; two brothers, Arthur Marrello of Stockton and Alec Marrello of Manteca, Calif.; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Francis Chiappetta, Santo Chiappetta and Albert Chiappetta; one brother, Frank Marrello; and two sisters, Tressie Oneto and Mary Sisley.  *

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma with Fr. Robert McElwee officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Chapel at Arma, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Wednesday.

Lena Ginardi
ARMA -- Lena Ginardi, 93, of Arma, died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, at Medicalodge Nursing Home at Atchison.
She was born Sept. 15, 1908, at Frontenac to John and Antonietta Valero Bertoncino. She was raised at Ringo and attended Ringo schools.

On Feb. 2, 1924, she married Pete Ginardi at Girard. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 1970. She retired and moved to Arma in 1972.

For 40 years she and her husband operated a business at Ginardi's Corner.

She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma; St. Ann's Altar Society; AARP No. 646 at Pittsburg; Arma Booster Club; Frontenac Ladies Eagles Auxiliary No. 2034; American Legion Auxiliary at Arma; and the Crawford County Museum Society.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Ginardi of Atchison; a daughter-in-law who provided for her care, Judy Ginardi of Kansas City; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eda Utermoehlen and Minnie Cavallo; and five brothers, Charles Bertoncino, Henry Bertoncino, John Bertoncino, Joe Bertoncino and Frank Bertoncino.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, June 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma with Fr. Donald Thissen officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma. Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Sunday at the BedeneChapel. Elsie H. Johnson
ARMA -- Elsie H. Johnson, 93, of Arma, died at 11:40 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2002, at Hospital District No. 1 of Crawford County, Girard.

She was born July 7, 1908, at Farlington to Charles and Edith Fisher Johnson. She was raised at Hiattville and attended Hiattville schools. She lived at Arma most of her life.

Ms. Johnson was a clerk at DeLapp Drug Store at Arma for many years and later worked in the office of Continental Trailways at Joplin, Mo.

She was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church, the Arma Eastern Star No. 379, the White Shrine at Fort Scott, and the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Opal Johnson, who provided for her care; a half brother, Alfred Johnson of Pittsburg; a half sister, Ann Haake of Overland Park; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three half brothers, Raymond Johnson, Paul Johnson and Albert Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, at Bedene Funeral Home of Arma with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. Eastern Star rites will be prior to the services Monday at the Bedene Chapel. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Bedene Chapel of Arma. Mary Normand
ARMA -- Mary Normand, 92, of Arma, died at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2002, at Infinia Health Care Center, Arma.

She was born Dec. 4, 1909, at Skidmore, to Joseph and Ellen Delsigne Beltram. She moved to Arma as a child and lived there the rest of her life.

As a young woman, she worked at Haldeman-Julius Publishing Company at Girard.

On June 13, 1931, she married Marcel F. Norman at Girard. He preceded her in death Feb. 3, 1987.

Mrs. Normand was a homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma.

Survivors include two sons, Marcel H. Normand and Richard L. Normand, both of Arma; eight grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Joe Beltram and Henry Beltram; and four sisters, Angel Chancellor, Lucy Beltram, Josie Burnside and Jennie Gohr.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma, with Fr. Donald Thissen as celebrant. Burial will be at Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Bedene Funeral Home, Arma. The rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Monday at Bedene Chapel, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Monday. ARMA -- Cecil Elmore Ziers, 81, of Arma, died at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2002, at the Infinia Health Care Center at Arma.

She was born Aug. 4, 1920, at Foster, Mo., to Mitchell and Grace Shannon Campbell. She attended Gross schools.

She married Glenn D. Lewis in 1935 at Arcadia. He preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1977. She married John Ziers in 1979 at Kansas City, Mo. He preceded her in death in 1995.

She was a homemaker, moving to Arma in 1995.

Survivors include three sons, Glenn C. Lewis of Denver, Jerry W. Lewis, of Arma and Jack L. Lewis of Independence; six daughters, Judy Pollard of Richmond, Mo., Janice L. Hulse of Arma, Rita Bollinger of Oklahoma City, Linda Lewis of Tulsa, Okla., Mary Powers of Burnsville, Miss., and Sheroyl Jackson of Roanoke, Ill.; 21 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Ed Lewis and one brother, Gene Miles.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at the Old Arcadia Cemetery near Arcadia. George DeBoth
ARMA -- George DeBoth, 89, of Arma, died at 11:50 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at Infinia Health Care Center at Arma.

He was born March 14, 1912, at Rich Hill, Mo., to Felix and Katherine Lott DeBoth. He was raised in Rich Hill, Girard, and Edison and attended Edison and Girard schools.

He was a retired steamfitter for Caterpillar at Peoria, Ill.

On July 15, 1931, he married Mary "Louise" Ritzky at Joplin, Mo. She preceded him in death May 23, 1997.

He was a member of the First Christian Church at Girard and the Masonic Lodge at Peoria.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty L. Dotson of Arma and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Elmire, Mary Storey, Helen Grisolano, Donna Strahan and Josephine Trybalski; and two brothers, Henry DeBoth and Louis DeBoth.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2002, at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Darrell Biggs of the First Christian Church at Girard officiating. Raymond E. Hulse Sr.
ARMA -- Raymond E. Hulse Sr., 65, of Arma, died at 3:17 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center at Pittsburg.

He was born May 24, 1936, at Platte County, Mo., to Charles and Opal Moffett Hulse. He was raised and attended school at Platte County.

He married Janice Lewis in January of 1971 at Whittier, Calif. She survives of the home.

Mr. Hulse retired after working as a truck driver for Ingersoll-Rand Trucking Co.

He was a member of the Lon Helm Post 182 American Legion at Arma, the Arma Eagles and the Western Conference Teamsters Union.

Survivors include five daughters, Theresa Crowell of California, Rose Cuadra of Corsicana, Texas, Tina Valasquez of Corsicana, Kimberly Werner of Jenks, Okla., and Christy Waits of Los Angeles; two sons, Ray Hulse Jr. of Fontana, Calif., and Herbert Hulse of Temecula, Texas; three sisters, Geneva Black of Blue Springs, Mo., Loretta Horn of California and Debra Hulse of Lawson, Mo.; two brothers, Kenneth Hulse of Arizona and Herbert Hulse of Tulsa, Okla.; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Ruby Fields, Dorothy Vaughn and Eunice Turner, and three brothers, William Hulse, Charles Hulse Jr. and Darrell Hulse.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at Old Arcadia Cemetery near Arcadia. Richard Leo Junior
PAOLA -- Richard Leo Junior, 56, of Paola, formerly of Arma, died Sunday, April 7, 2002 at his home.

He was born April 4, 1946 at Girard to Leo and Reba Wheller Junior. He was raised at Arma and graduated from Arma High School. He also attended Pittsburg State University and received a degree in education. He taught school at Cass-Midway High School at rural Harrisonville, Mo.

He worked for Farmers Insurance Company, American States Insurance Company and later the Allied Insurance Company. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a member of the Arma Masonic Lodge No. 408 and the Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg.

Survivors include two daughters, Natalie Powell and Carleigh Junior Young, both of Cherokee; his mother of Arma; two sisters, Doris White of Lee Summit, Mo., and Hazel Wallace of Kansas City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Junior.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Don Fleury will provide the eulogy. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Chapel at Arma, where friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Johnny C. Harrell

ARMA --  Johnny C. Harrell, 75, of Arma, formerly of Pittsburg, died at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at the Hospital District No. 1 at Girard.

He was born Nov. 20, 1926 at Leroy to James T. and Agnes Viola Harrell. He was raised in LeRoy and attended LeRoy schools. He lived at Pittsburg most of his life.

Mr. Harrell retired from McNally Manufacturing at Pittsburg, where he worked for 20 years.

He married Helen Ortha Canon on July 10, 1955 at Oswawatomie. She preceded him in death on Nov. 10, 1980.

He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the V.F.W. at Pittsburg.

Survivors include one daughter, Christy Burke of Arma; two sons, Ralph Canon of Pittsburg and Richard Canon of Olathe; one brother, Henry Harrell of Lawrence; two sisters, Twyla Haney of Pittsburg and Eva Jean Hardesty of Lawrence.

He was preceded in death by three sons and several brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Rosebank Cemetery at Mulberry with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma.

Joann M. Zetko
ARMA -- Joann M. Zetko, 86, of rural Girard, died at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Heritage Nursing Home of Girard.

She was born July 10, 1915, at Curranville, to Alexander and Carolyn Garbin. She was raised in Curranville and Girard. She attended Foxtown and Girard schools and later attended Kansas State Teachers College of Pittsburg.

She married John A. Zetko on May 19, 1945, at Detroit.

Mrs. Zetko was a private secretary and school teacher at Detroit before retiring in 1981 and moving to rural Girard.

She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma.

Survivors include her husband of the home and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Garbin, Henry Garbin and Leopold Garbin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Arma with Fr. Donald Thissen as celebrant. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at Frontenac. Anna Sluga
ARMA -- Anna Sluga, 82, of Arma, died at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 5, 1919, at Breezy Hill, to John and Mary Godina Sluga. She was raised at Arma and graduated from Arma High School. She attended computer school at Joplin, Mo.

Ms. Sluga worked in the computer department at AT&T at Kansas City, Mo., before her retirement.

She was a member of S.N.P.J. Lodge No. 225 at Camp 50.

Survivors include a nephew, Larry Spann of Grain Valley, Mo., who provided for her care.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Sluga and Marie Ziethen, and two brothers, John Sluga and Frank Sluga.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery, with Fr. Robert McElwee officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday at Bedene Funeral Home, Arma, which is handling all arrangements.

Calvin Elwood Orr

ARMA -- Calvin Elwood Orr, 76, of Arma, died Saturday, April 27, 2002, at Wichita.

He was born July 4, 1925, at Delavan, Kan., to Charles Elwood and Bertha Caulfield Orr. He grew up on the family farm and entered the U.S. Marine Corps in September of 1943 and was decorated with the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star after serving on Iwo Jima during World War II. He worked as an engineer at McDonnell Douglass Aircraft for 20 years at Santa Monica, Calif. He returned to Kansas to work at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center.

He was a lifetime member of the Disable American Veterans and was Post Commander of the American Legion Post 520 at Sun Valley, Calif.

He married Lena E. Kinney on June 24, 1952, at Blackwell, Okla. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include four daughters, Tina Camper of Arma, Lena Benedict of Troy, Mich., Alice Palmer of Auburn, Calif., and Lynda Daley of Hamburg, Mich.; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Scott National Cemetery with the U.S. Marine Corps providing military honor guard. Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Baker Funeral Home of Valley Center.     Back to top

Russell Dean Shadden
ARMA -- Russell Dean Shadden, 43, of Arma, died Saturday, March 30, 2002, at his home.

He was born Sept. 16, 1958, at Garnett, to Floyd Raymond Jr. and Ola Bella Joles Shadden.

On Dec. 29, 1990, he married Sandra Kay Glaze. She survives of the home.

Additional survivors include four sons, Paul Scrivener, of Olathe, Chris Scrivener, of Fort Scott, Russell Dean Shadden II, of Tulsa, Okla., and Jonathan Shadden of Branson, Mo.; four daughters, Cynthia Shadden, of Lamar, Mo., Annette Lame, of Stockton, Mo., Jacquelyn Shadden and Nikki Shadden, both of Arma; three brothers, Floyd Raymond Shadden II of Wichita, Ricky Joe Shadden of Pittsburg, and Randy Shadden of Missouri; one sister, Mary Ann Shadden of Fort Scott; and five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 4, at the West Park Church of the Nazarene with the Pastor Brian Keith officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Cheney Witt Chapel, Fort Scott, which is handling all arrangements.   Back to top

Robert 'Bob' Lessen
ARMA -- Robert "Bob" Lessen, 84, longtime Arma businessman, died at 5:27 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Hospital District No. 1 of Crawford County at Girard.
He was born April 11, 1918, at Arma to Joe and Nancy Eva Fox Lessen. He was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School. He later attended the University of Kansas on a baseball scholarship. He later attended Pittsburg State University and received a degree in business administration.

He owned Fox Insurance Agency, and worked as an insurance agent. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, serving in the Army Air Corps with the Flying Tigers as a B-24 gunner in Europe and China.

On Aug. 26, 1950, he married Betty J. Coghill at Pittsburg. She preceded him in death Feb. 9, 1982.

He was a member of Arma United Methodist Church; Arma Masonic Lodge No. 408; Arma Eagles; a life member and past commander of the Lon Helm Post No. 182 American Legion at Arma; original board member of Elm Acres; and Republican Precinct Committee-man.

He was a former councilman and mayor of Arma.

Survivors include two sons, Jody Lessen of Germantown, Md., and Rob Lessen of Arma; one sister, Mildred Leamon of Arma; his companion, Minnie Levra of Arma; and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the Bedene Chapel at Arma where friends may call after 11 a.m. today. Constance 'Connie' M. Sannipoli
ARMA -- Constance "Connie" M. Sannipoli, 85, of Arma, died at 12:35 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center at Pittsburg.
She was born Sept. 3, 1916, at Frontenac, to Charles and Edna Delplace Vezzetti. She was a homemaker and also worked as a bank teller at Berlin, N.J.

She was raised in Arma and graduated from Arma High School. She moved to New Jersey and returned to Arma in 1978.

On Sept. 30, 1937, she married Henry Sannipoli at Lamar, Mo. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1992.

She was a member of Arma United Methodist Church; Eastern Star Chapter No. 227 at Laurel Springs, N.J.; and the Worthwhile Study Club at Arma.

Survivors include two sons, James Sannipoli of Arma and Charles Sannipoli of Raleigh, N.C.; five grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Varsolona.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m Saturday at Bedene Funeral Home at Arma with the Rev. Steve Cole officiating. Burial will be at Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Bedene Chapel at Arma where friends may call after 11 a.m. today. Arrangements are under the direction of Bedene Funeral Home at Arma.

Joseph Bazin
SEDALIA, Mo. -- Joseph Bazin, 82, of Sedalia, Mo., died Monday July 29, 2002, at Midland Hospice Care Center at Topeka.
He was born May 26, 1920, at Franklin, to Joseph M. and Agnes S. (Knoll) Bazin. He attended Arma High School, and completed two years of school at Pittsburg State Teachers College before joining the U.S. Army on Nov. 8, 1941.

On Dec. 24, 1942, he married Irene Diane Macari at Westover Field, Mass. She preceded him in death Jan. 23, 1975. On April 23, 1977, he married Veronica Murphy Trotter at Sedalia. She preceded him in death Oct. 5, 1990.

He worked most of his life for Beatrice Foods Company, Meadow Gold Dairy Division at Joplin, Jefferson City and Sedalia until his retirement in 1975.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Parish for 30 years where he served as eucharistic minister. He also was a member of the Parish Council and the Sacred Heart School Board. He served as president of the Sedalia Duplicate Bridge Club, the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, and the Moose Lodge No. 1492 of Sedalia.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph A. Bazin of Topeka, and John R. Bazin of Morris Plains, N.J.; four daughters, Barbara Berendzen of Warrensburg, Mo., Beth Bazin of Kansas City, Mo., Kate Bazin of Tulsa, Okla., and Juliette Borchers of Nassau, Bahamas; three step-sons, Joe Trotter of St. Augustine, Fla., Robert Trotter of Eldon, Mo., and David Trotter of Jacksonville, Fla.; two step-daughters, Stacy Lemons of Columbia, Mo., and Galen Maples of Barnett, Mo.; 20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Bazin and Jack Bazin; and one sister Mary Ann Bazin.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Miller, C.P.P.S., Fr. Tom Albers and Fr. Jack Behen officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery at Sedalia. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel at Sedalia. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday with visitation to follow. Arrangements are under the direction of the McLaughlin Funeral Chapel at Sedalia.

Jennie G. Liposek
ARMA -- Jennie G. Liposek, 82, of Arma, formerly of Foxtown, died Sunday, Aug. 18, 2002 at the Hospital District No. 1 of Crawford Country at Girard.
She was born Feb. 29, 1920 to Philip and Juana Franketti Liposek. She attended Franklin schools.

In 1940 she married John Korach at Lamar, Mo. They later divorced. She worked for the Country Cove and Gebhardt's restaurant as a cook and kitchen helper. She retired in 1995.

Survivors include one son, John Korach of Hamilton, Mo.; one daughter, Marilyn Sinclair of Arma; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Janice Korach Adam; two brothers, Phillip and Frank Liposek; and two sisters, Frances Maxwell and Mary Mandel.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Mt. Carmel Cemetery with the Rev. Verl Strong officiating. Burial will follow. Family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Friskel Funeral Home. Friends are requested to meet at the cemetery for the services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Friskel Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay in Frontenac.
